Have a look at Punta Cana and discover a different world!
The Dominican Republic has roughly one thousand miles of beaches! With shorelines that border both the Caribbean Sea on one side (the south side) and the Atlantic Ocean to the other sides (east and north sides), the Dominican Republic offers at least a 1000 continuous miles of coastline. The biggest tourism destination, Punta Cana, can be found to the southeast. From New York you can reach Punta Cana by jet in a mere four hours and from Florida it'll only take two hours. The proximity to the United States makes it not hard to travel to a fantastic sunny paradise, without breaking the bank or losing much sleep. However this is not the only reason visitors travel there. Punta Cana offers a range of excellent places to stay, along with activities you would probably never get to do back at home. Water sports are all around. And if you like culture: the capital Santo Domingo is the eldest city in the New World with numerous monuments and landmarks from the early 16th century. Away from the coast, you'll discover 4 mountain ranges with the highest point being approximately 10,700 feet. The South East region houses the most Northern rainforest in the world. And of course, there are the little islands of Saona and Catalinita, which can be considered as tropical paradises. Many tours are available in Punta Cana, from boat trips to Saona Island to Jungle tours that explore the interior regions.
